Klendathu Survey
Approaching the world of fandom through documentation related to the very first Official Klendathu Expedition to the Sol System.
Klendathu is the fictional homeworld of the Arachnids, the insectoid alien species from Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers. Introduced as a hostile enemy planet, it becomes a symbol of fear, propaganda, and the unknowable other in a satirical science-fiction universe that critiques militarism and media manipulation.
The video moves between aerial views of landmarks, iconic tourist sites, and human-made and natural climate phenomena on Earth. Each transition is marked by the passage of a vessel called Saeta across the screen. These are reconnaissance vessels developed on Klendathu for observation around the targeted planet.
